6-Day Lake Victoria Tour – Ndere Island (Kenya)

Arrive in Kisumu afternoon hours check in to your hotel and have a briefing of the itinerary have lunch and relax for Evening drive to Kisumu Impala sanctuary. <p>After breakfast trek to the lake shore or the yacht club, then take a boat to Ndere Island National park. According to Luo legendary story Ndere (meeting place) is where Mikaye the mother of the Luo rested after a long journey down the Nile to the Lake Victoria before reaching her home Kit – Mikaye. The day is spent in search of the lake’s largest crocodiles, Hippos, monitor lizards, birds, water antelopes etc. Enjoy fishing and taste your catch for dinner. Lunch in the lake on the boat. <p>After breakfast. Check out hotel and drive to Mbita for Takawiri Island. Takawiri is the master of all fine things. ‘Coastal’ feel at the lakeside, bird watching paradise, photography grounds, beach hotel, perfect place to catch the sunset, fishing grounds and generally a place to just chill. Check in at Takawiri Island resort, relax and have lunch. Later go for an evening one hour Takawiri sightseeing trip. <p>After breakfast enjoy another one hour boat ride and enjoy sport fishing activities later return to hotel for check out and head to Mbita. Check in at Lake Victoria safari Village for lunch and later head to Ruma National Park and spend day. <p>After early breakfast depart to Lake Nakuru National Park. Lake Nakuru is known as the Birds watchers paradise one of the Rift Valley soda lakes at an elevation of 1754 m above sea level. It lies to the south of Nakuru, in the rift valley of Kenya and is protected by Lake Nakuru National Park. The lake's abundance of algae used to attract a vast quantity of flamingos that famously lined the shore. Other birds also flourish in the area, as do warthogs, baboons and other large mammals. Eastern black rhinos and southern white rhinos have also been introduced.</p><p></p><p>Arrive in Nakuru in the afternoon and check in to your hotel for lunch and later in the evening enjoy the evening game drive.
