Later drive north through the rich farming areas arriving at the Outspan Hotel in time for lunch (180 kms). <p>Enjoy breakfast at the lodge. This morning depart and drive into the Great Rift Valley to Lake Nakuru National Park arriving in time for lunch (180 kms). Afternoon game-drive. Drive to Lake Naivasha (70kms). Check in at your lodge.</p><p></p><p>Lake Naivasha and Lake Nakuru are two ancient lakes located in the Great Rift Valley that bisects much of Kenya (and indeed Africa). The Rift Valley is an active continental rift zone whereby the African plate is busy splitting into two new plates.</p><p></p><p>Lake Nakuru, located is a soda lake that is famed for attracting millions of flamingos and pelicans that come to feast on the abundance of algae. The sheer number of flamingos has led to Lake Nakuru being known as the scene of ‘The Greatest Bird Spectacle’ in the world. There are over 400 species of bird in Lake Nakuru</p><p></p><p>Lake Naivasha – which means ‘rough water’ in Masaai – is a freshwater lake. <p>After an early breakfast drive to the world famous Masai Mara Game Reserve arriving in time for lunch at the lodge (260 kms). Enjoy a late afternoon game-drive in one of the world’s finest game reserves.</p><p></p><p>Situated in the southwest of Kenya, covering 583 square mile), the Masai Mara National Reserve is a land of breathtaking vistas, abundant wildlife and endless plains</p><p></p><p>The quintessential Masai Mara safari delivers many attractions, as the reserve is home to an excellent year-round concentration of game, including the more than two million wildebeest, zebras and other antelopes that make up the famous Great Migration.</p><p></p><p>The reserve is a photographer’s and naturalist’s paradise, with abundant elephant, buffalo, giraffe, lion and cheetah alongside the migratory wildebeest and zebra. <p>Return to Nairobi by road (300km – approximately 5 hours), or fly from the Mara to Nairobi: morning flight (prices on request).
