The African Bush Elephant, the biggest land animal on earth

These intelligent giants are nature’s engineers, digging waterholes, creating pathways, and spreading seeds that help shape their ecosystems. While many elephant populations are protected, poaching for ivory and habitat loss continue to threaten their future.

This is an African bush elephant, the biggest land animal on earth. Weighing over 6,000 kg, this is our planet’s largest land animal.

Also known as African savannah elephant, it is an impressive sight; a large male can stand 13 feet tall and weigh 11.5 tons, while an average-sized male stands around 10.5 feet tall & weighs 6.6 tons.

Among Elephants – there are – 3 – Three living species are currently recognised: the African bush elephant, the African forest elephant, and the Asian elephant. 

Most people in the world have never seen an African bush elephant with their own eyes. It’s impossible to imagine how large and magnificent a creature it is, until you see it for yourself! Amboseli National Park.
